Words of Wisdom

A mature woman; Actual size=180 pixels wide

As I said, Words have more meaning then the actual syntex they represent. They evoke emotions, inspire us to do better, and give us pride that a member of our species can be so wise. They can be the best and worst we have to offer.

All truths are understood once they are discovered, the point is to discover them.

galileo

so much of our time is preparation, so much is routine, and so much retrospect, that the path of each man's genius contracts itself to a very few hours.

ralph waldo emerson

it is the mark of an educated mind to rest satisfied with the degree of precision which the nature of the subject admits and not to seek exactness where only an approximation is possible

adversity is the state in which a man most easily bevomes acquainted with himself, being especially free from admirers to tell him differently.

A Salute To Mr Murphy and A Few Of His Laws

Nothing is as easy as it looks.
Everything takes longer than you think.
Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong.
Corollary: If there is a worse time for something to go wrong, it will happen then.
If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway.
If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which a procedure can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.
Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.
It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first.
Every solution breeds new problems.

These two quotes although comical do hold in their interpuration a interesting persona about the state of society.

Always do the right thing, this will gratify some people and astonish the rest

the art of living is more like that of wrestling than of dancing; the main thing is to stand firm and be ready for a unseen attack.

there is no limit to the amount of good that people can accomplish, if they don't care who take the credit.

Hail to the dragon fly.

As March slowly disolves into April, As the days become long and a promise of a new season is fulfilled. It would do us a service to look upon the changing seasons with reverence a tribute to the complexity of the changing time. Perhaps if we took a few moments each day to marvel at the processes the world offers us. Then perhaps it would be easier for us to look upon the things we have and things we are granted on a daily basis with the respect that they deserve. It is hard to destroy the things that we treasure.

I shall pass this way but once, therefore any good that I can do, any kindness I can bestow upon my fellow man. Let me do now, let me not defer nor neglect it. For I shall not pass this way again.

One Scarey Reality:

A mother playing with children; Actual size=180 pixels wide

It is almost impossible to believe the stats that indicate that we loss several spieces of animals each year. Often these animals are not well know, or belong to an order of birds or insects. Their small stature playing into the old out of sight out of mind cliche. Soon however the species that will begin disappearing are those that will be noticed and leave a gap in the ecosystem that will never be filled. It is a sad thought that the children of the future will know nothing of these animals except by word only.....It will be a sober reflection on just how inhumain, humainity can be.
